NOVA

Since the early 1990s NOVA has specialized in the field of electronic baby monitors, developing equipment that sets new industry standards.

NOVA focuses on quality, technological innovation and the modern-design expectations of today's parents. SuperNOVA was the first in the world with a dual code system, digital technology and LCD display, and is considered to be a market leader when it comes to your baby's safety and your peace of mind.

SAFETY FIRST:
All baby monitors transmit radio waves from the baby unit so that sounds can be heard on the parent unit. This creates an
electromagnetic field around the transmitter, but the strength of the field differs considerably from one baby monitor to the next. The strength is related to the output rating which is measured in milliwatts (mW). This is proportional with the range. NOVA's output is maximum 10mW. This provides minimal radiation, comparable to normal levels in public areas.

FACTS ABOUT PULSATING RADIATION:
A walkie-talkie baby monitor (PMR), with a range of 2 - 3km, may have an output of up to 500mW and is therefore not well suited as a baby monitor. DECT baby monitors transmit radio waves with powerful repeating pulses of 250mW for brief time slots per second. Claiming an average output of 10mW is therefore highly misleading. These transmissions are microwaves just like those from
a mobile phone. This also applies to DECT telephones with baby monitoring functions and digital baby monitors with pulsating radiation. Pulsating
radiation is considered harmful to the nervous system, and changes in child behaviour are found when using DECT baby monitors. Some will try to claim that harmful effects have not been proven, but for a baby whose brain mass is only 50% developed, it goes without saying that it is better to be safe than sorry.

FACTS ABOUT ELECTRICAL AND MAGNETIC FIELDS:
These fields are general for all electric home appliances and are not considered
harmful. NOVA also emits very low electrical and magnetic fields compared to the average for baby monitors. Moreover, these fields are significantly reduced when running on batteries. Buying a baby monitor with a long battery lifetime is therefore a sensible choice, both when it comes to the child's safety and your piece of mind .

FACTS ABOUT THE NUMBER OF CHANNELS:
The frequencies allocated by the public authorities to baby monitors only permit four channels. Each channel may be combined with a large number of codes. However it is easy to be misled when some manufacturers give the number of code combinations as 16 channels. Stated in these terms, SuperNOVA would contain 256 “channels”. NOVA stresses the parents’ need for correct and proper information.
